Description

A day visit to Capri

Capri is one of the most beautiful and romantic islands in Italy, a truly unforgettable place. It’s unlikely to remain insensitive to crystalline sea, main square filled with boutiques and typical shops, the enchanting “Faraglioni” and villas and gardens hanging over the sea.

You can reach Capri from the ports of Naples, Sorrento, Salerno, but our tour starts from Amalfi or Positano. We’ll get on a boat for a crossing along Amalfi Coast: landscape is unique and features “Saracen towers” guarding small fishing villages, bays, beaches and sea caves, going as far as to Punta Campanella, the end of the Sorrento Peninsula, from which Capri seems to have broken off.

Tour details:

Upon disembarking at Marina Grande, you can continue using a boat to reach Blue Grotto, which was discovered during nineteenth century.

Our guided tour continues on private minibuses in order to climb up to Anacapri and visit Villa of San Michele, which belonged to Swedish doctor Axel Munthe. From here, you can reach summit of Mount Solaro using chairlift: the view on the bay of Naples is extraordinary.

Next, we’ll go back to Capri via minibus and spend a bit of time for lunch: let me suggest you a good restaurant to taste typical local specialties.

Next stop is a visit to Gardens of Augustus, which offer panoramic views of Faraglioni and the unique Via Krupp. Not far away is the Certosa di San Giacomo, a monumental complex founded in late 14th century.

We’ll continue towards the famous Piazzetta, the living room of island, a place crowded with tourists during the day and charming at night. Above the roofs stands Clock Tower, while on one side you can see steps leading to seventeenth-century church of Santo Stefano.

Before leaving the island from Marina Grande port, you can enjoy some shopping or a little relaxation and, sitting at a table in the square, you can taste the typical cake “Caprese”, made of almonds and chocolate.

The island offers many more attractions: we suggest to stay in a small hotel or bed and breakfast in order to visit more places. Anyway, this guided tour will leave a great memory of Capri, so do not hesitate to ask for information or special requests and book now!
